Nowadays, AirDrop ad-hoc service in OS X Lion 10.7 might be the fastest and easiest method to transfer files between Macs without WiFi network or changing any configuration. Though this feature is fairly easy to use via OS X Finder, OSX Daily have pointed out there is a more simple way to do this job with OSX Mountain Lion and you can exchange files through AirDrop straight from a Quick look window.
Simple Steps Use AirDrop from Quicklook
1. Locate the file you want to transfer uisng Finder of OS X Mountain Lion and hit spacebar to use QuickLook.
2. Click on Sharesheet icon(Upper right corner) and choose AirDrop from the menu.
3. Click Send to transfer file after the recipient is visible as the file destination.
Since it creates a direct connection between Macs, you don’t even need to have network access which makes it fairly easy if you want to share some files with someone nearby.
