The Best AI Visibility Monitoring Tools
Marcus Chen · May 6, 2026
The short answer
If you want the best data-to-price ratio right now, start with Otterly AI for small teams or Ahrefs Brand Radar if you already pay for Ahrefs. If you’re an enterprise brand with budget and need governance, API access, and analyst-grade reporting, Profound is the category leader. Everything else on this list earns a specific use case, not a blanket recommendation. None of these tools tell you the whole story on their own, and none of them replace actually doing the work of GEO: getting cited requires structured, quotable content, not just a dashboard that tells you you’re invisible.
AI visibility monitoring is a real, useful category now because the old rules don’t apply. Google Search Console tells you nothing about whether ChatGPT mentioned your brand yesterday. These tools exist to close that gap: they run repeated prompts against ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, and Copilot, then track which brands and URLs get named or cited. We looked at seven tools that are actually shipping product today, not vaporware with a waitlist.
What we evaluated
Every tool below is live, has a real pricing page, and is being used by actual marketing teams as of mid-2026. We checked: which AI platforms they actually query (not just claim to), whether prompts are based on real search demand or made up internally, pricing transparency, and whether the output is actionable or just a vanity chart. We excluded anything we couldn’t verify was still operating.
1. Profound
Profound is the enterprise standard in this category. It builds its own dataset from real user prompts across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude, and Google AI Overviews, and tracks not just whether your brand is mentioned but how you’re framed relative to competitors, with sentiment and citation-source breakdowns. It’s built for teams where AI visibility reporting goes to the board, not just the marketing team.
Best for: Enterprise brands and large agencies that need SLAs, API access, and governance-grade reporting.
Pro: The most comprehensive competitive benchmarking in the category, with genuinely proprietary prompt data.
Con: Pricing starts at $499/month for self-serve, and full engine coverage requires a custom Enterprise contract, out of reach for smaller teams.
2. Ahrefs Brand Radar
If you’re already inside Ahrefs for SEO, Brand Radar is the natural extension. It pulls from over 340 million monthly prompts across six AI indexes (AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, Perplexity), and critically, those prompts are derived from real Google search behavior rather than synthetic questions someone typed into a spreadsheet. That matters because it means the visibility data reflects what your actual audience is asking, not what a product manager guessed they’d ask.
Best for: Teams that already use Ahrefs for traditional SEO and want AI visibility in the same workflow.
Pro: Search-backed prompts instead of synthetic ones, plus it ties directly into the web and video visibility data you’re already tracking.
Con: Full platform access runs $398 to $699/month, and it’s most useful if you’re already deep in the Ahrefs ecosystem rather than a standalone buy.
3. Otterly AI
Otterly is the best entry point for solo marketers and small teams. It queries the actual AI search interfaces the way a human would, rather than hitting a raw API that can return different results than what a real user sees, which means the citations and link positions it reports are closer to reality. Coverage spans ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini, and Claude.
Best for: Small teams and solo marketers who need real AI visibility data without an enterprise budget.
Pro: The Lite plan is $29/month, by far the cheapest credible entry point with daily tracking and real GEO audits included.
Con: Prompt volume is thin at the low tier (15 prompts on Lite), so you’ll outgrow it fast if you’re tracking more than a handful of core queries.
4. Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit
Semrush folded AI visibility into its existing platform rather than building a standalone tool, which is either a feature or a limitation depending on whether you already live in Semrush. It draws from a prompt database of over 317 million AI queries and reports share of voice and sentiment across Google AI Overviews, AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini, sitting alongside your normal position tracking.
Best for: Teams that want AI visibility reporting inside the same dashboard as their existing SEO and PPC data.
Pro: No new tool to learn if you’re already a Semrush customer, and the daily refresh keeps data current.
Con: It’s an add-on to a broader suite, so you’re paying for a lot of platform you may not need just to get the AI visibility layer.
5. Peec AI
Peec is built specifically for marketing teams running AI search analytics, and it’s notably transparent about what you get at each price point. It tracks 50+ countries on every plan, and its paid tiers include a live MCP server and public API, which matters if your team wants to pipe AI visibility data into its own reporting stack instead of living inside someone else’s dashboard.
Best for: Marketing teams and agencies that want country-level tracking and API access without enterprise pricing.
Pro: Straightforward published pricing from roughly $80 to $420/month, with agency plans built in, no “contact sales” wall for mid-tier access.
Con: Additional AI engines cost extra on top of the base plan, so your real monthly cost climbs if you want full ChatGPT plus Perplexity plus Gemini plus AI Overviews coverage.
6. Scrunch AI
Scrunch positions itself less as a pure monitoring tool and more as a full AI customer experience platform, layering prompt monitoring and citation intelligence with website audits and AI crawler analysis. It’s built for teams doing serious GEO and AEO work, not just checking a visibility score once a month. Notably, Scrunch was acquired by Sitecore in mid-2026, which signals the category is consolidating into larger martech platforms.
Best for: B2B and SaaS teams that want visibility monitoring bundled with technical AI-readiness audits.
Pro: Combines monitoring with actual site-level AI crawler and content audits, closing part of the gap between “you’re not visible” and “here’s why.”
Con: Post-acquisition roadmap and pricing continuity are open questions worth checking before you commit budget.
7. Rankscale
Rankscale is the value play in this list. Built in Vienna, it tracks brand visibility across 10+ AI engines including ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, and pairs that with per-page AI-readiness audits scored against 200+ factors. At a $20/month entry price it undercuts everyone else here by a wide margin.
Best for: Budget-conscious teams and agencies managing multiple client brands who still want real citation data.
Pro: The cheapest credible tool in the category, with genuinely differentiated citation monitoring for the price.
Con: It’s measurement and diagnostics only. There’s no content generation or publishing workflow, so you’ll need a separate process to act on what it finds.
Where these tools stop helping
Every tool on this list will tell you whether you’re showing up in AI answers. None of them will get you there. Visibility tracking is diagnostic, not strategic. What actually moves the needle is the same thing it’s always been in earned media: being a source worth citing. That means structured content, clear entity signals, and a digital footprint AI models can actually parse and trust. If you want the strategic side of this explained properly, our digital GEO and SEO services page walks through how we approach it for clients, and if you want a second opinion on your current setup, get in touch and we’ll look at what’s actually happening with your brand across these platforms.
How we ranked these
We started from a longer list of tools claiming AI visibility monitoring and cut anything we couldn’t verify was a real, currently operating product with a live pricing page as of mid-2026. For the seven that made the cut, we weighted four things roughly equally: platform coverage (how many AI engines they actually query, not just advertise), data methodology (real search-derived prompts versus synthetic ones), pricing transparency, and whether the output was actionable for a marketing team versus just a chart to screenshot for a slide deck. We did not accept payment or free access from any vendor listed here, and pricing was current as of publication but changes fast in this category, so verify before you buy.
